Gable Steveson - The Modern Day Kurt Angle?

wrasslinews

Remember The Modern Day Maharaja? Well, that is old news. What people are now talking about about is no Maharaja, but an Olympic Gold Medalist - Gable Steveson.

Steveson has his eyes on the professional wrestling industry and he trying to hide it from the world.

Gable took to Twitter yesterday to refer to himself as a “Modern Day Kurt Angle.”

Obviously, Gable and Angle are both Olympic gold medalists, with the latter working his way into the world of professional wrestling and ultimately, cementing his legacy as one of the most celebrated wrestling icons to ever exist.

Steveson, on the other hand, might just be getting started in the pro wrestling industry. He reached out Vince McMahon via shortly media, shortly after winning the Olympic Gold. He later also met Vince and made an appearance at SummerSlam, along with fellow gold medalist Tamyra Mensah-Stock.

Earlier this month, while promoting WWE SummerSlam, Bobby Lashley commented on Steveson possibly making the smart decision of joining “The Hurt Business.” Lashley stated:

"If he does come to WWE, the smartest way for him to do is give me a call and maybe we can get him into The Hurt Business and help his career. If he comes to WWE and he is not part of The Hurt Business, then he is gonna fall like anybody else and be a second rate guy. So, those his options: either come to WWE and join The Hurt Business and we can ensure him that he is gonna be in the right place, and in the right hands, or he can go to UFC and to try to hand it out there.”
